The client for this project, Christian Service Brigade Ministries, desired an up-to-date but timeless look for their new "Adventure Trails" publication. This handbook for teenage boys needed to have a captivating look that would generate excitement and exploration.
The challenge was to create a design that would be modern and attractive to the current generation, while not being so trendy that it would become stylistically obsolete in the near future. It was crucial that the visuals be timeless enough to last many years.
These challenges were met by the rugged "field journal" look that includes a leather-styled cover. In addition, the design serves to reinforce the concepts of developing boys into men through critical thinking and outdoor adventure.
